Connecting an AI advisor to your finances is a significant decision, so before you do, here is what Bookvisor AI can and cannot do, in plain language. In short, it reads your numbers so it can answer your questions and monitor the things you asked it to watch. It never moves a dollar and never files anything, and every figure it shows traces back to your bank feed.
What Bookvisor AI never does
- Never moves a dollar. Your bank and credit-card feeds connect to Bookvisor AI as read-only. That is how the connection is built, not a setting that can be changed. It can see what came in and what went out, but it cannot send a payment or move funds. There is no transfer function for it to use.
- Never sees your bank password. When you connect an account, your login goes straight to your bank through Plaid, the regulated, bank-grade service that apps like Venmo, Robinhood, and SoFi use to link accounts. We never see it or store it.
- Never files your taxes. Bookvisor AI is not a substitute for your CPA. It does not file returns or make tax decisions. It runs alongside the people and tools you already use, keeping your numbers organized so your conversations with your accountant are shorter and clearer.
- Never hides where a number came from. Every figure Bookvisor AI gives you traces back to your actual bank and card feed, and you can check the activity behind it. When something is unclear, it flags the item rather than guessing.
- Never sells your data. Your financial information is not a product we resell. We do not sell it, and we do not share it beyond the people you authorize.
- Never texts you unprompted. Bookvisor AI only reaches out about jobs you set up yourself: the reports, alerts, and reminders you configured. Reply STOP to any text and the messages stop immediately.
How your data is protected
- A read-only bank connection. Your accounts link through Plaid, the regulated, bank-grade service that major financial apps rely on. The connection only ever reads. There is no path for anyone, including Bookvisor AI, to move money through it.
- Strong encryption, at rest and in transit. Your data is encrypted with AES-256 when it is stored, and protected while it travels to and from you. The access that lets Bookvisor AI read your bank feed is locked behind its own separate keys, kept apart from everything else.
- Your data, kept separate. Every customer’s financial data is kept strictly separated. Your numbers are never combined with anyone else’s, and Bookvisor AI only ever works within your account.
- A record of every message. Every email and text Bookvisor AI sends is logged, so there is always a complete record of what went out and when.
How AI is used
You should know exactly how the AI part works. To answer your questions, your financial data is processed by our AI provider, which turns your raw numbers into a plain-English answer. Here is what we will and will not do with it:
- It’s never sold.
- It’s never used to advertise to you.
- It’s never shared beyond the people you authorize.
The model reads and explains your activity, while the numbers themselves come from your bank, where you can check them. Like any AI, Bookvisor AI can occasionally get something wrong, so it shows its work and flags what is unclear. Any time you want the texts to stop, reply STOP. They end right away, and your account is not affected.
In plain terms
Bookvisor AI reads your numbers and explains what it sees, and that is where it stops. It cannot spend your money and cannot file your taxes, and the numbers it works from come straight from your bank, where you can always check them.
