Bookvisor, operated by Vista Labs Inc. (“Bookvisor”, “we”, “us”) provides an AI-assisted financial overview and advisor for small business owners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to bookvisor.ai and the Bookvisor product (the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details through our identity provider.
- Business and financial data. If you connect a bank, credit card, or other financial account, we receive transaction history, balances, account metadata, and institution details from our aggregation partner. You may also enter business details (entity, loans, manual entries) directly.
- Conversations. Messages you send to the in-product AI advisor, plus the advisor’s responses and the tool calls it makes on your behalf.
- Usage and device data. Standard logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed, timestamps, errors) needed to operate and secure the Service.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including the AI advisor’s answers and recommendations.
- To categorize transactions, build your books, and surface insights about your business.
- To authenticate users, prevent abuse, and meet our legal and security obligations.
- To communicate with you about the Service, including support and material changes.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your business or financial data to train third-party foundation models.
SMS / text messaging
If you opt in to text messaging with Bookvisor (operated by Vista Labs Inc.), we collect your mobile number and your messaging consent so we can send the texts you requested — replies from your assistant, account alerts you turn on, and a one-time verification code. Bookvisor does not send marketing or promotional texts. We do not sell or share your mobile information or SMS opt-in and consent data with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties except the service providers that operate the messaging program on our behalf (for example, our SMS delivery provider), who process it only to send the messages you requested.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not affect your Bookvisor account.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the Service. They process your data only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations:
- Authentication and identity management.
- Bank and financial-account aggregation.
- AI model providers that power the in-product advisor.
- Cloud hosting, managed databases, error monitoring, and product analytics.
Data retention
We retain your account, business, and transaction data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time; some records (for example, audit logs) may be retained where required by law.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls, and regular review of our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your choices and rights
You can access, update, or delete most of your information from within the Service, or by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect.
